Billie Lawson has extensive experience in the apparel industry. Billie started their career as an Art Director at Stanly Knitting Mills/Sterling Sports, where they were responsible for designing and creating apparel for colleges/universities and sporting goods stores. Billie then moved on to Allison Manufacturing Company, where they served as an Art Director, managing design staff and overseeing the graphic department. Billie also held the role of regional art director for print facilities in NC, SC, and TX.
In 1993, Lawson joined Hanesbrands Inc. as a Technical Design Manager, Design Development Manager, and Production Manager. Their responsibilities included leading the concept design process, managing staff, and overseeing the technical fit process. Billie played a crucial role in creating and managing the design development from conceptual idea to final garment approval for production. During their time at Hanesbrands Inc., they worked with brands such as Team Hanes, Champion, and C9, focusing on men's, women's, and children's apparel.
Most recently, Lawson served as the Director of Product Development at LT Apparel Group, starting in 2009. In this role, they were responsible for all technical aspects of knit and woven products, ranging from infant to youth sizes (3M-20). Billie oversaw the entire product development process, from creation to final production.
Billie Lawson attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 1978 to 1982. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus on Design, Painting, Fine Art, Color, and Psychology.
