Karen Rosine has a diverse work experience in communications and media roles. Karen is currently serving as the Head of Strategic Communications at LTA since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Interim Head of Communications and Engagement at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust from February 2021 to April 2022.
Before their role at the NHS, Karen held the position of Interim Head of Media and PR at Asthma UK and the British Lung Foundation from November 2019 to December 2020. Karen played a significant role in lobbying for people with lung conditions, leading media crisis responses for COVID-19, and managing the merger of two media teams.
Karen has also worked as the Interim Advocacy Communications Lead at WWF, where they developed the global communications strategy for the New Deal for Nature and People in 2019.
Additionally, they served as the Interim Communications Director at Culture Trip, an entertainment start-up, from March 2018 to November 2018. In this role, they were responsible for strategic corporate and consumer communications.
Karen's earlier work experience includes positions at NHS England, where they worked as the Deputy Head of Media from January 2015 to November 2017, and at BBC, where they held various communications roles, including Deputy to Head of Comms/Communications Manager and Publicist for BBC News.
Karen started their career as a Press Officer at the National Lottery Commission in 2001 before moving on to the BBC Corporate Press Office.
