Mr. James Abraham graduated in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, post graduated from Johns Hopkins University and has an MBA (Palmer Scholar) from Wharton.
Mr. Abraham is the co-founder and Director of SolarArise which owns and operates utility scale solar plants in India. He has over 30 years of experience as a management leader in various roles in Canada, South East Asia, and India.
Mr. Abraham started his career with Bell Canada where he developed advanced services for emerging technologies. In 1994, he joined Boston Consulting Group (‘BCG’) in Toronto where he worked in industries as diverse as paper, appliances, automotive, oil & gas. In 1998, he moved to India to open and lead the Delhi office. Under his leadership, BCG offices in India grew from 18 people to over 200. In 2009, Mr. Abraham took on the leadership of SunBorne Energy, a technology R&D and Solar-EPC Player in India.
Mr. Abraham serves on various Industry advisory bodies and councils including the India-US Track 2 on Climate Change. He is a member of the Board on Vistaar Financial Services, Smart Power India, International Justice Mission, and a Trustee of the Ananta-Aspen Center. He is a fellow member of the Kamalnayan Bajaj and the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
