Gert Wastyn

Gert Wastyn is a seasoned professional in the fields of illustration, animation, and design, currently serving as a Professor and Researcher at LUCA School of Arts since 2012, focusing on the project 'Plai' within the Play & Game research group. As the owner of 25 GRFX since 2003, Gert specializes in animations, video productions, illustrations, website design, cartoons, and character design. Previous experience includes roles as a web and graphic designer at BBC Kontich from 2001 to 2006, where Gert created designs for notable clients such as Toyota and Unilever, and as an animator for Simon Pummel in 2000, contributing to a short video project for the Snow White exhibition. Gert holds a Master's degree in Audio Visual Arts with a focus on Animation from Sint-Lukas Brussel, complemented by further education at Syntra Media School Hasselt and earlier studies in the same field at Sint-Lukas Brussel.
