Thabang Gasemokwena

Thabang Gasemokwena is an accomplished mining engineer with extensive experience in the mining industry. Currently serving as a Mining Engineer at Lucara Diamond since June 2021, Thabang coordinates mining activities to maximize the recovery of diamond-bearing ore and leads projects to improve efficiency. Previous roles include Drilling Superintendent at Marung Development Services, where Thabang managed drilling operations, and Drilling Supervisor at Geosearch Group Botswana, overseeing the Geotech Drilling Project. Thabang's early career included positions as a Blasting Assistant at Nowata Africa and as a Graduate Trainee Mining Engineering at Gem Diamonds Botswana. Additionally, Thabang has academic experience as a Teaching Assistant in Mining Engineering at Botswana International University of Science and Technology. Thabang holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from the University of Botswana and a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering, Geology & Economics from Missouri University of Science and Technology, along with a specialization in Project Management from Rice University.
