Nenette Luarca-Shoaf

Nenette Luarca-Shoaf currently serves as the Managing Director of Learning and Engagement at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, a position held since February 2020, where responsibilities include overseeing public programs and community partnerships to make historical narratives accessible to diverse audiences. Prior experience includes serving as the Director of Adult Learning and Associate Curator of Interpretation at The Art Institute of Chicago, where management of adult engagement initiatives involved supervising a large team. Nenette's academic background encompasses a Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Delaware, complemented by fellowships and curatorial roles at prestigious institutions such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Additionally, involvement with the editorial board of the Open Rivers journal and various public symposia showcases a commitment to cultural preservation and interdisciplinary discourse.
