David Nakabayashi

David Nakabayashi is a highly experienced creative professional in the film and visual effects industry. Currently serving as Creative Director of the ILM Art Department at Lucasfilm since 2005, Nakabayashi plays a principal role in visual development for feature films, collaborating closely with filmmakers to create inspired visuals. Previously, Nakabayashi founded Studio Midwood LLC, focusing on film production and community volunteerism from 2011 to 2021. With a solid background at Industrial Light & Magic as a VFX Art Director from 1995 to 2005 and various art director and concept artist roles at notable companies such as Rocket Science Games, The 3DO Company, and Amblin Entertainment, Nakabayashi's early career foundation was established with a BS in Industrial Design, graduating with honors from ArtCenter College of Design in 1989.
