Derrick Birkes

Derrick Birkes has a strong background in software engineering with experience at several notable companies. Derrick is currently working as a Lead Software Engineer at Lucerna Health since April 2022. Prior to that, they held the same role at Amazon from August 2017 to September 2021. Before joining Amazon, they worked at StorageCraft Technology Corporation as a Senior Software Engineer from November 2013 to August 2017, where they led a team in the development of an online service backup application. Derrick also worked at Fusion-io as a Software Engineer from February 2012 to November 2013, contributing to the front-end UI, back-end server, and internal software tools. Their earlier experience includes working as a Software Engineer II at T.D. Williamson Inc from March 2008 to February 2012, focusing on C++ development and rewriting the OpenGL Graphics System.
