Tom Schaafstra

Tom Schaafstra is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in employment law across multiple regions, including Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. Currently serving as the Head of Legal Europe at Lucid Motors since March 2022, Tom leads the European legal team while managing international employment law matters for the company across the EMEA region. Prior to Lucid Motors, Tom held key positions at Bird as Director of Employment Legal for EMEA and APAC, and has a strong legal background from roles at ING and Clifford Chance, where responsibilities included advising on employment law and major reorganizations. Educational qualifications include a Master's in Corporate and Labor Law, with additional credentials as a certified ski instructor.
