Yuchao Chen

Yuchao Chen is currently a Senior Systems Engineer in Thermal and HVAC at Lucid Motors, focusing on reduced-order modeling for vehicle thermal management and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation for air flow optimization. Prior to this role, Yuchao served as a Research Engineer at Purdue University, where work included multiphysics model development and applied research for electric arc furnace optimization and green metallurgical processes. Yuchao's experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at Purdue involved the development of in-house CFD codes and reduced-order analytical models for metallurgical processes. The early research tenure included leading a team at Central South University on tidal energy prototypes, resulting in a Chinese invention patent. Yuchao holds a PhD and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in the same field from Central South University.
