Mirjana Ferrer Rodríguez has a diverse work experience ranging from software development to medical research. Mirjana is currently working as a Software Developer at Lucida Medical Ltd since February 2022. Previously, they worked as a PHD Candidate at Bristol Robotics Lab from October 2018, where they focused on using machine learning strategies to support surgeons in cancer implant procedures. Mirjana has also worked as a Full Stack Engineer for the medical industry as a self-employed professional since November 2017, utilizing PHP, Symfony, JavaScript, Vue.js, HTML, and CSS for web application development.
Mirjana's earlier experiences include working as a Student Assistant for the Control Systems Group at TU Berlin from November 2014 to August 2017. In this role, they developed algorithms for stroke rehabilitation using C and Matlab and conducted experiments within clinical trials. Mirjana presented the obtained results at conferences. Before that, they had an internship at Bristol Robotics Lab from November 2015 to April 2016, where they developed a hand neuroprosthesis combining functional electrical stimulation and iterative learning control, with the presentation of the results at a conference.
Mirjana also had brief internships at CERN in May 2011 and BBSPL in October 2009.
Mirjana Ferrer Rodríguez (she/her) began their educational journey in 2011, attending Technische Universität Berlin. Mirjana completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Physical Engineering in 2015.
Building on their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Physical Engineering at Technische Universität Berlin from 2015 to 2018.
Driven by their passion for Medical Robotics, they then enrolled at the University of the West of England in 2018. During their time there, they engaged in extensive research, leading to the completion of their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Medical Robotics in 2021.
Mirjana's academic journey demonstrates a strong foundation in Physical Engineering, with a specialization in Medical Robotics at the doctoral level.
