Joel Bernstein

Joel Bernstein is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in the field of search technologies. Currently serving as Principal Software Engineer at Lucidworks since August 2018, Joel has also held key roles in The Apache Software Foundation as a Lucene/Solr PMC and Committer since October 2013. As the founder of Amberstone Labs and having previously worked at Alfresco and Heliosearch, Joel has demonstrated expertise in search engineering and software development. Joel’s career began at Electric Press in 1995, and notable positions include Manager of Software Engineering and Principal Software Engineer at Reed Elsevier. Joel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
