Hannes Stefánsson began their work experience in 2006 as an Assistant Store Manager at Dressmann AS, where they remained until 2014. From 2002 to 2015, they worked as an Assistant Manager at Iðnó. In 2014, they joined Siminn as a Technical Support Specialist and later transitioned to the role of Training Specialist in 2018, where they stayed until 2021. In 2021, they took on the role of Specialist at Siminn before moving on to become the Customer Support Manager at Lucinity in June 2022.

Hannes Stefánsson began their education journey in 2012 at Háskóli Íslands, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. Hannes completed their degree in 2013. Following this, from 2013 to 2014, they attended NTV skólinn where they focused on Kerfisstjórnun (Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management). In 2018, Hannes enrolled at Reykjavik University to further their education by taking a course in Applied Project Management Expert, which they completed in 2019.

In addition to their formal education, Hannes Stefánsson obtained a certification as a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from the International Practice Management Association (IPMA) in May 2019.
