Ishan served as a QC Supervisor at Baladna Food Industries, building upon a previous role as Dairy Tech - Laboratory Shift In Charge at Almarai from May 2016 to April 2018. P. Ishan's career includes positions as Lab Analyst in the R&D/Quality Department at Milco (Pvt) from August 2014 to April 2016, and as Dairy Tech - Microbiology Technician at Almarai from August 2011 to August 2014. Earlier in the career, P. Ishan held a Lab Analyst position in the Quality Department at Milco (Pvt) from July 2003 to August 2011. Educational qualifications include a Higher National Diploma in Food Quality Assurance from Sri Lanka Standard Institution and various certifications in quality and laboratory management.

The Business of Milk Processing was established in 1991 as a domestic business with the excess milk of a household cow. The founder Mr. Lal Keerthi Gunawardena, who is the present chairman of the company started this business with the support of his Four Sisters.
