Lourens De Waal has a strong background in logistics and management, with over 25 years of experience in the industry. Lourens began their career at Irvin & Johnson in 1994 as the GM Export and Local Distribution, where they worked for six years. From there, they joined Vector Logistics in 2000, starting as the National Operations Manager and later transitioning to the role of Supply Chain and Customer Director. In 2011, De Waal moved on to become the Managing Director of CCS Logistics Group, the largest commercial cold storage and handling group in Africa. Most recently, since November 2014, they have been serving as the Managing Director of Lucky Star, the second-largest food brand in South Africa and the largest Africa-based canned fish supplier.
Lourens De Waal attended Cape Peninsula University of Technology from 1985 to 1988, where they obtained a HND in cost and management accounting. Additionally, they completed a business management short course at the Graduate School of Business - University of Cape Town, and a change leadership short course at the University of Michigan.
