Karsten Hinkel

Karsten Hinkel is an experienced aviation professional currently serving as the Head of the eTLB Project at Lufthansa, responsible for implementing a fully integrated digital technical logbook for the airline. Previously, Hinkel held several key positions within Lufthansa, including Head of Boeing Fleet Engineering, Head of Technical Fleet Management, and Group Senior Fleet Manager for the Airbus A320 Family, where coordination of fleet management activities was a primary focus. Before joining Lufthansa, Hinkel worked at Lufthansa Technik as an Aircraft System Engineer and Engineering Supporter, gaining expertise in various aircraft systems, including flight controls and fire protection systems. Hinkel began the career as an Apprentice Aircraft Mechanic, compliant with German IHK and EASA regulations. Hinkel holds a Diplom Ingenieur (FH) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Fachhochschule Frankfurt am Main.
