Jingsong Xu has worked in the field of Computer Vision & Machine Learning since 2011. In 2011, they were a Research Assistant at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). In 2014, they worked as a Data Engineer at Alipay. From 2015 to 2021, they worked at the University of Technology Sydney in various roles, including Casual Teaching, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, and Fixed-Term Teaching. Since 2021, they have been the Computer Vision & Machine Learning Tech Lead and Senior Computer Vision & Machine Learning Engineer at Lumachain. During their time at UTS, their duties spanned academic research, teaching, and industry project development, and they were involved in projects such as Automated Sheep Counting in the Live Export Industry, Automated, Real-time Monitoring of Bird and Flock Movement and Behaviour, Thermal Analytics on Object Temperature Changing in Mining Environment, and Human Action Recognition in Shopping and Checkout Areas.
Jingsong Xu obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science and Technology from Nanjing University of Science and Technology between 2003 and 2007. Jingsong then returned to Nanjing University of Science and Technology to pursue a PhD in Human Detection and Computer Vision, which they completed in 2014. During their PhD, they were a Visiting Ph.D at the University of Technology Sydney between 2011 and 2014, and an Exchange Student at UNSW between 2010 and 2012.
