Chelsea Wolk's work experience begins in 2008 when they worked as a Lab Technician at Rutgers University, where they developed a "dipstick" assay for Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) and constructed different GFP protein tags using molecular biology techniques. Chelsea then worked as a Lab Technician at Brighter Ideas Inc from 2010 to 2011. From 2009 to 2011, they held two roles at Livingston Theater Company, serving as Production Manager and Technical Director. From 2011 to 2016, Chelsea worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Oregon State University, optimizing protein purification protocols, measuring protein expression and localization, and cloning and purifying recombinant fusion protein constructs. Chelsea then took on the role of Assistant Director of Strategic Programs - College of Science at Oregon State University from 2017 to 2019, where they developed an internship training program, oversaw the launch of a collaborative event, and mentored first-year students. Most recently, in 2020, Chelsea worked as a Project Manager at Lumen Bioscience.
Chelsea Wolk completed their education with various degrees and certificates. Chelsea earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biochemistry from Rutgers University, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Chelsea then pursued their higher education at Oregon State University, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry and Biophysics from 2011 to 2016. During this time, they also acquired a Graduate Certificate in College and University Teaching from Oregon State University in 2015-2016.
