Stepan Mikhailiuk

Stepan Mikhailiuk has extensive experience in software engineering. He began his career as a Software Developer at Casting Networks, Inc., where he contributed to the development of the Modelwire WebBooking 2 project. He then moved to Sletat.ru as a Senior Software Engineer, working on the development of the sletat.ru website module. Later, he was promoted to Senior Software Engineer Lead, overseeing the development of the main site for searching hotels and flights.

Stepan was then invited to join Alfa-Bank as a Senior Software Engineer, focusing on a project related to international B2B money transfers. He later worked at Wrike as a Senior Software Architect, where he played a key role in improving the codebase and introducing new features to the Wrike UI kit components library. His efforts to motivate developers to contribute to shared libraries resulted in a 40% increase in contributions.

After that, Stepan took on the role of Frontend Architect at Alfa-Bank, where he was responsible for leading the development of Alfa-Online as CTO. Currently, at Lumen5, he leads the development of the video engine using PixiJS, WebGL, and Lottie, significantly improving efficiency and user experience.

Overall, Stepan has a strong background in web development and software architecture, with expertise in technologies such as React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

Stepan Mikhailiuk earned his Master’s degree in Computer Technology/Computer Systems Technology from ITMO University, where he studied from 2010 to 2016.

He is an active contributor to various open-source projects and regularly participates in major web and video technology conferences as a public speaker. He also writes articles and leads a web programming course at ITMO University, one of the leading institutions in programming education.
