Jeff Hughes has over 15 years of experience in the machining industry. In 2006, they began their career as a Prototype Machinist for Motoczysz, where they were responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting Haas vertical machining centers, programming using Mastercam X9.1, and performing close tolerance work to +.0002. Jeff also worked with all materials including tungsten, machined raw casting engine blocks, and utilized Bridgeport mills and surface grinding. From 2007 to 2008, Jeff worked as a CNC Set-Up Machinist for Cascade Engineering Technologies. From 2008 to 2011, they worked as a CNC Lathe Machinist for Pacific Rim Manufacturing, where their duties included leading set-up machinists for multiple machines, using different G and M codes, Miyano SY with live tooling and sub spindle, Leadwell CNC Lathe, and Hardinge CNC Lathe. Jeff also supported tooling and machines, and trained new hires on proper set-up procedures. From 2011 to 2016, Jeff worked as a CNC Machinist for BDE Manufacturing, where they programmed using Mastercam X9.1 for Okuma vertical mill and 2 Axis CNC Okuma lathe, and set-up, troubleshot, and operated Okuma horizontal mill, Haas vertical mills, and Okuma lathe. From 2016 to 2017, they worked as a Horizontal Lead Machinist for Ascentec Engineering, LLC, where their duties included setting up and operating Okuma Horizontal CNC mills, and performing NPI work and production. In 2022, Jeff began working as a Machine Shop Manager for Lumencor, Inc., where they are responsible for starting a machine shop from the ground up, ordering the machines to make the parts, ordering material, and programming using Solid Works.

Jeff Hughes attended Portland Community College, where they studied Machine Tool Technology/Machinist.
