Luca Lombardini has extensive experience in the field of electronic design engineering. Luca currently serves as a Principal Electronic Design Engineer at Lumentum. Prior to this, they worked at Robertshaw for five years, where they held the role of Team Lead Hardware and later Senior Hardware Design Engineer. At Robertshaw, they were responsible for the development of hardware for home appliances and obtaining EMC certification. Luca also mentored and coached colleagues on various projects. Before joining Robertshaw, Luca worked at AP Systems as an HW and FW Engineer, where they developed a remote-controlled illumination system. Luca also developed small tools and projects using C++ and C# for debugging purposes. Luca also has experience as a Hardware Firmware Consultant at Polo Tecnologico Don Gnocchi, where they focused on the development of hardware and firmware for medical devices. Additionally, they worked at Texas Instruments as an AFAE, responsible for training distribution network FAEs and resolving customer issues. Prior to that, they worked at Flextronics as a Senior Hardware Engineer, developing portable medical devices. Luca began their career at Cisco Systems as an HW Engineer, specializing in telecom devices. Their earliest role was as an Electronic Designer at the R&D Laboratory of Specialtel-Lem S.p.A, where they developed microwave and high-frequency devices.
Luca Lombardini obtained a degree in Engineering (Electronics) from Politecnico di Milano, where they attended from 1989 to 1999. Luca also has additional certifications in LabVIEW programming, Data Science, and English proficiency.
