Paul Garvey

Paul Garvey has over 20 years of work experience in software engineering and architecture roles. Paul is currently working as a Principal Software Engineer at Lumeris, leading a small team in migrating a healthcare application to microservices deployed on AWS. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Element Fleet Management, where they designed highly scalable vehicle ordering systems.

Paul also has experience as a Senior Full Stack Architect (Consultant) at Wells Fargo and as a Sr. Staff Software Engineer at GE Digital, where they developed and maintained robust SaaS microservices. Paul also worked as a Sr. Enterprise Architect at GE Capital, providing technical leadership in J2EE design strategy.

Earlier in their career, Paul worked as a Hands-on Software Product Manager at Amica Inc., a Senior Java Web Developer at CIGNA Retirement and Investment Services, a Lead Software Engineer at CuraGen Corp., a Lead Software Developer at Home-Link Services Inc., and a Developer at NeuVis Inc.

Throughout their career, Paul has worked with various technologies such as Java, GoLang, MongoDB, ELK Stack, RabbitMQ, and Cloud Foundry. Paul has extensive experience in implementing agile methodologies, designing scalable systems, and collaborating with development teams.

Paul Garvey obtained their Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Sacred Heart University in 1992. Paul later pursued their Master's degree in Computer Science from the same university, completing it in 2000.
