Laura Girton

Laura Girton, CHC, CHIAP, currently serves as the Director of Internal Audit and Compliance Operations at Luminis Health since January 2023. Prior experience includes the role of Director of Compliance Operations at the University of Maryland Medical System from March 2019 to November 2022, as well as a Compliance Analyst position. Laura's career in compliance began at Anne Arundel Medical Center, where the role of Compliance Specialist was held from November 2008 to February 2019. Earlier positions include Privacy Coordinator and Research Associate at The Queen's Medical Center, and Research Associate at Georgetown University Medical Center, focusing on neuroimaging research of ADHD and cognitive functioning in Alzheimer's patients. Laura began her professional journey as a Research Assistant at Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Binghamton University, earned between 1994 and 1997.
