Omar Roubi, MS, CPA

Omar Roubi, MS, CPA has a diverse range of work experience in both the academic and professional sectors. Omar started their career as a Tax Intern at Grant Thornton LLP in 2009, where they performed tax research, prepared individual and trust returns, and prepared corporate tax returns. From 2010 to 2011, they continued their tax work as a Federal Tax Associate at Grant Thornton LLP. Omar then worked as a Corporate Income Tax Accountant at Rent-A-Center from 2011 to 2012.

In 2012, they transitioned into the academic field and became a Lecturer at Brock University, where they taught various accounting courses for six years. During this time, they also served as a Sessional Instructor at McMaster University from 2016 to 2018, teaching fundamental financial and managerial accounting to MBA students.

In 2018, Omar joined the University of Colorado Denver as an Instructor, where they continue to teach accounting courses. Omar also worked as a Sessional Instructor at Ryerson University - G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education during the first half of 2018.

In 2019, they briefly served as a CPA Prep Content Writer at Mindojo, contributing to the development of content for CPA exam preparation.

Most recently, Omar joined LumiQ in 2021, initially as a Technical Accounting Producer from March to August, and then transitioning to the role of Director of Technical Education in August.

Omar Roubi holds a Masters of Science degree in Taxation from the University of North Texas, which they obtained from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from the same university between 2005 and 2008. Additionally, they obtained the credential of Certified Public Accountant from the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy in October 2011.
