Despite clear evidence of the harms of institutionalisation, an estimated 5.4 million children around the world continue to live in orphanages and other harmful institutions. Surprisingly 80% of them have a living parent or relative. Children in institutions are deprived of their basic rights and the chance to reach their full potential.
 
Lumos exists to light a path to a brighter future for these children. We fight to tackle the causes of family separation and transform systems of care that take children away from their families and communities.

The Operations and Project Management Team at Lumos leads and coordinates efforts to end the institutionalisation of children. This team ensures efficient execution of projects, oversees operational functions, manages financial planning, and promotes digital and creative strategies. They conduct research and learning initiatives to inform best practices and evidence-based interventions, all aimed at reuniting children with their families and communities and supporting systems that nurture child development in a safe and loving environment.
