Calvin Cheng

Calvin Cheng serves as the Director of Applications and Customer Success at Lumotive since May 2025. Previously, Calvin held the role of Chief Operating Officer at Edgehog Advanced Technologies Inc. from December 2018 to August 2024, where significant achievements included transforming an anti-reflective glass technology into a market-ready product and securing $8 million in funding for growth in solar, automotive, and aerospace sectors. Calvin's experience also includes leadership positions as General Manager & CTO and Chief Technology Officer at Mattrix Technologies and as Entrepreneur In Residence at TandemLaunch Inc., focusing on deep-tech innovations and investment opportunities. Prior to that, Calvin was the VP of Product Development at Sciventions, overseeing product development processes and securing agreements for numerous advanced technology products. Calvin holds a PhD in Materials/Physical Chemistry and an MSc in Biophysical Chemistry with a specialization in Optics from the University of Toronto.
