Tom Graver has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Tom started their career at Cincinnati Milacron as a Senior Systems Engineer, specializing in designing automated manufacturing systems. Tom then moved on to Georgia Institute of Technology, where they held positions such as Assistant Director of the CIMS Program and Manufacturing Consultant, working on projects focused on process improvement, measurement, and control in Georgia industry. Tom also played a key role in launching university-industry collaborations such as the Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing Institute and the Center for Environmentally Conscious Design and Manufacture. Tom later joined Micron Optics, Inc., where they held several leadership positions including Director and VP roles in the Optical Sensing division and eventually became the Chief Operating Officer. Currently, they are the Vice President at Luna Innovations Incorporated.

Tom Graver has a strong educational background in the field of engineering and management. From 1979 to 1984, they attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME). Following this, they pursued further education at the Georgia Institute of Technology. From 1986 to 1987, they completed a Master of Science (MS) degree, specializing in Systems Analysis, Industrial Engineering, and Operations Research. Finally, from 1992 to 1994, Tom attended the Georgia Institute of Technology once again, this time to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Manufacturing Management.
