Klaus Baek Simonsen

Klaus Baek Simonsen has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and academic sectors, currently serving as the Site Head of the Lundbeck La Jolla Research Center since February 2005, with progressive leadership roles including Vice President of Molecular Discovery and Innovation, Vice President of Discovery Chemistry and DMPK, and Divisional Director of Medicinal Chemistry Research. Prior to Lundbeck, Klaus held various positions such as Board Member at Entomopharm and Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen. Additional experience includes roles as Principal Scientist at Anadys Pharmaceuticals and Postdoctoral Fellow at both The Scripps Research Institute and Aarhus University. Klaus's educational background features a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and a Master's degree in Mathematics and Chemistry from Syddansk Universitet, complemented by executive education at Harvard Business School.
