Alexander F. Stern

Alex Stern was named President of Lazard Ltd in June 2019. Alex has served as a Managing Director of Lazard since 2002, and prior to becoming President was Chief Executive Officer of Lazard’s Financial Advisory business since April 2015, Chief Operating Officer of Lazard since November 2008 and Global Head of Strategy since February 2006.

He initially joined Lazard in 1994. Alex has worked with a broad array of clients in the technology and telecommunications sectors. He previously held various positions at Patricof & Co. Ventures and IBM.

Alex earned a BS (Phi Betta Kappa) from Duke University. He also received an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School, and an MSE from The Moore School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania.
