Sergio Pereira

VP, Research, Product Division, Oncology Group at Lunit

Sergio Pereira is the VP of Research for the Product Division of the Oncology Group at Lunit. Prior to this, they were a Data Scientist for tb.lx by Daimler Trucks & Buses from November 2018 to December 2019. From October 2015 to March 2016, they did research internships at the Institute for Surgical Technology & Biomechanics, where they focused on medical image analysis using machine learning algorithms. From April 2014 to October 2018, they were a researcher at the University of Minho, where they worked on machine learning and deep learning algorithms for image analysis and assisted in the supervision of MSc thesis projects. Sergio has also been involved with the Biomedical Engineering Student Association of University of Minho, where they served as Informatics Department Head from May 2011 to May 2012.

Sergio Pereira has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Joint PhD program of Universities of Minho, Aveiro, and Porto MAP-i. Sergio also has a degree in Biomedical Engineering from Universidade do Minho, and a Project Management certification from Tecminho/Apogep. Sergio has also completed a course in Advanced Computer Vision Techniques from the Computer Vision Academy, and has two Coursera certifications - one in Big Data Analysis with Scala and Spark, and the other in Functional Programming Principles in Scala. Sergio is also certified by the IPMA: International Project Management Association at the IPMA Level D - Project Management.

They are on a team with Kihwan Kim - Chief Medical Officer, Jaehoon Ahn - VP, Solution Engineering, Product Division, Radiology Group, and Anthony Paek - Co-founder, Executive Chairman & Chief Innovation Officer. Sergio Pereira reports to Beomseok Brandon Suh, CEO.
