Marie-Laure Steichen has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Marie-Laure is currently the Vice President and Head of Internal Audit and Risk Management at Luxair since September 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Millicom (Tigo) where they held various positions including Director of Group Business Controls & SOX and Senior Manager of Group Business Controls & SOX. Marie-Laure was responsible for leading internal control and SOX-compliance activities across multiple locations. Marie-Laure also worked as a Manager of Group Business Controls and played a key role in process improvement projects and transitioning to a SOX-compliant internal control environment. In addition, Marie-Laure served as a Board Member and Treasurer at ACFE Luxembourg Chapter. Marie-Laure also gained experience in audit and financial roles at FedEx Express, the film industry, Millicom (Tigo), ArcelorMittal, European Court of Auditors, and IBM.

Marie-Laure Steichen completed their education at ICN Business School from 2000 to 2004, earning a Master of Science degree in Business Administration and Management. In 2003, they participated in the ERASMUS program and studied International and Service Marketing at Umeå School of Business, Economics, and Statistics (USBE) in Sweden for one semester. Prior to their time at ICN Business School, they attended Lycee Georges de Latour in France from 1998 to 2000, where they completed the 'Classes Preparatoires HEC' program. In 2015, they obtained certification as a Certified Fraud Examiner from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
