Anomien Smith

Creative Director at Luxury Frontiers

Anomien Smith has a diverse and extensive work experience in the architecture and design industry. Anomien began their career as a Student Holiday Worker at WJ Argitekte in 2005, where they gained experience in general office administration and kitchen layout design. Anomien then worked as a Senior Technologist at Mhatti Architects in 2007, responsible for stages 1-4 of projects, including concept development and construction drawings. Anomien then worked as a Junior Architect at ARC Architects Cape Town from 2010 to 2013, where they focused on concept development, design, council administration, and site inspection. Anomien continued their architectural career at ARC Architects Pretoria in 2013 as a Professional Architect. From 2014 to 2015, Anomien worked as an Architect at dhk architects, where they collaborated with the design director on project design and documentation. In 2015, Anomien founded Urbansmith design (Pty) Ltd, serving as the Principle Architect until 2018. Anomien was responsible for administering projects from start to completion, ensuring quality control, and being closely involved in all documentation. Anomien also worked at Luxury Frontiers from 2015, initially as the Director of Architectural & Interior Design and later becoming the Creative Director in 2018. This international company specializes in designing and developing sustainable and experiential resorts, lodges, and camps. Anomien has extensive experience in alternative and sustainable building techniques for the lodging sector, particularly composing high-end tented camps.

Anomien Smith completed their Matric from Hoërskool Nelspruit in 2003. Anomien then went on to pursue a Master of Architecture (MArch) degree from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria between 2004 and 2009.
