Caryn Ott Hillman

Caryn Ott Hillman has extensive experience in musical theater education and direction, currently serving as a Musical Theater director and teacher at Lycée Français de Chicago since January 2015. Simultaneously, Caryn has been involved with Music Theater Works since June 2011, taking on roles as Director/Choreographer for Children's Workshops and as a Stage Director & choreographer. Caryn's experience also includes teaching at The Chicago High School for the Arts from July 2017 to June 2023, focusing on movement for singers, and instructing at The Actors Gymnasium from 2015 to 2020. Additionally, Caryn held positions as a Movement and Acting Teacher at the Merit School of Music from September 2016 to April 2019 and as a Drama and Dance Teacher at New Music School in 2018. Caryn's early work in direction and choreography included a significant role with Chicago Opera Theater-After School Matters from January 2013 to June 2017. Caryn holds a Bachelor's degree in Music with a focus on Musical Theatre from Roosevelt University, earned between 1996 and 2000.
