Jian Cao

Jian Cao, PhD, RAC, currently serves as Vice President of CMC at Lycia Therapeutics since May 2024. Previously, Jian held the position of Vice President of Pharmaceutical Development at Invectys from March 2022 to May 2024, focusing on CMC development for CAR-T, antibodies, and DNA vaccines. Jian's experience includes serving as General Manager at Alvotech & CCHT Biopharmaceutical Co. Ltd from May 2019 to March 2022, where responsibilities included building a global compliance cGMP biological manufacturing plant and leading technical operations. Prior roles at Sorrento Therapeutics, Inc. spanned from 2013 to April 2019, culminating in the Executive Director position overseeing analytical and formulation development and quality control. Jian's early career includes work at Genentech and a postdoctoral position at UC San Diego, specializing in mass spectrometry techniques. Jian holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Biology from The University of New Mexico, along with Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Polymer Chemistry & Physics and Applied Chemistry, respectively, from Jilin University.
