Kurt Van Allsburg is a seasoned researcher in the field of chemistry, currently serving as Principal Scientist and Head of Catalyst Development at Lydian, focusing on innovations in converting CO2 to sustainable aviation fuel and decarbonizing the chemical industry. Prior to this role, Kurt held positions as Senior Scientist and Staff Scientist at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, where significant contributions included leading the development of CatCost, a tool designed to estimate catalyst costs, thereby facilitating R&D decisions. Kurt's earlier experience includes serving as Chemical Safety Liaison at Berkeley Lab, where efforts were directed towards laboratory safety management, and participating in the Joint Center for Artificial Photosynthesis.
