Principal Scientist/associate Director at Lyell Immunopharma

Neeraj S. has a diverse work experience spanning over 22 years. Currently, they hold the position of Principal Scientist- Pathology at Lyell Immunopharma since April 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Scientist at the same company from May 2019 to April 2022.

Before joining Lyell Immunopharma, Neeraj S. worked at Amgen as a Scientist, Pathology from July 2017 to May 2019. They also gained significant experience at Genentech, where they served as part of the gRED Research, Pathology team from December 2011 to July 2017.

Neeraj S.'s academic background includes positions at The University of Alabama at Birmingham where they worked as a Cell Biologist, focusing on kidney disease research and obtaining a National Kidney Foundation fellowship. They also presented their findings at various national and international meetings during their tenure from 2007 to 2011.

Neeraj S. completed their PhD in Cellular Biology, specializing in Microtubule dynamics, at the University of Georgia. During their time there from August 2001 to May 2007, they investigated the assembly and disassembly of Microtubules and discovered new players required for cilia assembly, a key organelle involved in motility and signal transduction.

Neeraj S. began their professional journey as an intern at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in May 1999, gaining initial exposure to the industry.

Neeraj S. completed their education at three different institutions. Neeraj started at Delhi University in 1995 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry in 1998. After that, they attended Aligarh University from 1998 to 2000 and received a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology. Finally, they pursued a higher level of education at The University of Georgia from 2001 to 2007, where they obtained a PhD in Cellular Biology.
