Yiota Demetriou

UX & UI Design Lead at Lyfta

Yiota Demetriou is currently the UX Lead at Lyfta. Prior to that, they were a UX Designer at Amdaris from January 2021 to June 2021. Before that, they were the Web Editor & Content Creator at Brunel University London from December 2018 to December 2019. Yiota has also worked as a User Experience Researcher & UX Designer at UWE Bristol International College from November 2018 to May 2019.

Yiota Demetriou has extensive experience in the field of user experience and design. Yiota is a co-founder of social enterprise and digital networking tool, aimed at the development of multidisciplinary collaborations, cultural advocacy, and opportunities for creative individuals, start-ups, and organisations, across borders. Yiota has also conducted user research and comparative analysis of direct and indirect competitors, created wireframes of app and website, and successfully changed its processes of engaging with targeted audiences. Instead of offering services to single individual end-users, they extended its digital platform to include services for cultural organisations. In addition, they have organised Alpha and Beta testing, planned and facilitated focus groups, and documented, collated and analysed findings from UX research and implemented them in redesigning final prototype.

Yiota Demetriou has a PhD in Performance & Theatre Studies from the University of Bristol, an MA by Research in Theatre & Performance Studies from the University of Hull, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Drama from Queen Mary University of London. Yiota also has a Diploma in Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy (NYFA) and is certified by the Higher Education Academy as a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

They are on a team with Shaheed Hossain - CFO & Operations Officer, Charlie Phillips - Head, Stories, and Ross Tranter - Head, School Partnerships. Yiota Demetriou reports to Serdar Ferit, CEO & Co-Founder.
