Virginia Scott is an accomplished communications and education professional with extensive experience in storytelling, special events, marketing, and development. Currently serving as the Director of Communications and Development at Lynchburg Beacon of Hope since February 2024, Virginia specializes in crafting compelling narratives and securing annual funding for the organization. Previous roles include English Teacher positions at various public school systems and a WarmUp Caller at The Financial Gym, where Virginia engaged potential clients. Virginia's background in theater instruction and freelance writing complements a solid academic foundation, holding a Master of Arts in Teaching from Randolph College and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Mary Washington.

Lynchburg Beacon of Hope is an organization whose goal is to connect students with the tools and resources to succeed in school and in life! Our focus is to increase economic development in the region by increasing opportunities for awareness, achievement, access, and affordability. Beacon of Hope has Future Centers embedded into Lynchburg City Schools through a local private-public partnership and also offers FREE community college through promise scholarships. Beacon of Hope has raised over $6 million to date to provide Stay Close, Go Far Promise Scholarships and Commonwealth Scholarships for LCS graduates. If you'd like to get involved, just reach out!
