Data Scientist at M Science

Jeremy Meyer has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and analysis. Jeremy started working at M Science in 2020, where they held the role of Data Analyst from August 2020 to July 2021. Jeremy then transitioned to the role of Data Scientist in August 2021 and is currently working in this position.

Prior to M Science, Jeremy worked at Brigham Young University starting from 2017. Jeremy held multiple roles during their time there, including Course Developer, Graduate Research Assistant, Data Science Club Trainings Specialist, Teaching Assistant, and Math Lab Assistant. As a Course Developer, they translated R code into Python and created Jupiter notebook files for statistical learning and data mining classes. Jeremy also assisted students who were learning Python for the first time. As a Graduate Research Assistant, Jeremy conducted research on Bayesian Non-Parametric methods and contributed to the development of an R package. Jeremy also performed tests on existing functions. In their role as a Data Science Club Trainings Specialist, they provided training on various data science topics to other students. As a Teaching Assistant, they explained statistical concepts to students and taught review presentations for examinations. Lastly, as a Math Lab Assistant, they assisted calculus students with their homework and conducted review sessions.

Jeremy had internships at Snap Finance in 2019 and Vivint Smart Home in 2018. At Snap Finance, they worked as a Data Science Intern and trained forecasting models using the prophet Python package. Jeremy implemented predictions using R Shiny and utilized SQL databases and Airflow for caching and generating new predictions. At Vivint Smart Home, they worked as a Data Science Intern and Video Analyst. Jeremy developed a person bounding box tracking algorithm on a video stream using Python and contributed to winning 3rd place in an intern case competition.

Additionally, Jeremy had a self-employed tutoring experience from 2017 to 2018. Jeremy tutored multiple students in calculus and statistics, helping them understand difficult concepts and pass their courses.

Jeremy Meyer earned a Bachelor's degree in Statistics from Brigham Young University between 2013 and 2018. Following that, they pursued a Masters degree in Statistics from the same university from 2018 to 2020.
