Nicky Lax is a highly skilled engine builder with extensive experience in motorsport and engine assembly, currently serving as a Senior Engine Builder at M-Sport Ltd since April 2021, while also holding the position of Engine Assembly Technician at Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains since November 2020. Previously, Nicky held various roles at M-Sport Ltd, including Senior Engine Builder from August 2013 to March 2020, and Engine Sub Assembly Technician from January 2005 to March 2012, where expertise was developed in rebuilding turbochargers and other components. Nicky's experience also includes a tenure at Mercedes AMG HPP during a pivotal F1 rule change in 2013 and freelance event motorsport technician work with Dave Robinson Services, focusing on the rebuild and servicing of a WRC vehicle. Education was completed at William Howard School from 1996 to 2003.

In 2018, M-Sport also entered the world of electric motorsport as Jaguar’s technical partner in the I-PACE eTROPHY. Running alongside the FIA Formula E Championship, the zero-emission series completed two seasons and was M-Sport’s first step into sustainable motorsport – a concept currently being built on with the introduction of hybrid technology ahead of the 2022 FIA World Rally Championship. M-Sport is also set for expansion with the development of the M-Sport Evaluation Centre. The multi-million pound facility will provide a unique centre of engineering excellence – allowing leaders in automotive technology to follow concepts from design to production on one exclusively-situated and expertly-equipped site.
