John Nicholls

John Nicholls has a wide range of experience in the technology industry. John began their career in 1994 as a Research Scientist at the Center for Research and Education in Optics and Lasers in Florida. In 1996, they moved to Crystal Photonics Inc. as Research and Development Manager, where they were involved in product development, production management, marketing and sales. In 1998, they founded Photonic Materials Limited and served as the CEO until 2006. In 2006, they joined TMRI as CEO and was responsible for the company's partnerships with Scotland's four main medical centres and the pharma industry. In 2011, they joined M Squared Lasers as Commercial Director and shareholder, and in 2021 they became General Manager for the Semiconductor, Displays and Metrology business unit.

John Nicholls attended the University of Strathclyde from 1990 to 1994, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the field of Development of novel optical crystals for generation of coherent light in the visible spectrum.
