Gervais Tougas

Gervais Tougas has extensive experience in the fields of medicine and pharmacovigilance, primarily at Novartis from March 2004 to August 2023, where notable roles included Head of the Chief Medical Office and Patient Safety, Chief Medical Officer, Global Head of Drug Safety and Epidemiology, Global Head of Pharmacovigilance, Global Head of Translational Medicine, and Deputy Head of Global Clinical GI Development. Prior to Novartis, Gervais Tougas served as a Professor of Medicine at McMaster University and Head of the Division of Gastroenterology at St Joseph Healthcare from January 2001 to March 2004. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from McGill University and postdoctoral training in Physiology and Pharmacology from McMaster University.
