Adolfo Ruiz

Adolfo Ruiz is an accomplished academic and creative professional with extensive experience in visual communication design and research. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at MacEwan University since July 2019, Adolfo has previously held positions including Research Facilitator at the Edmonton Multicultural Coalition and Instructor of Visual Communication Design at the University of Alberta. Adolfo's work in ethnographic and video documentary storytelling, focusing on disability and urban spaces, was part of a project led by Dr. Megan Strickfaden. Other notable roles include Creative Director at The Met Agency Advertising and Design Studio, where creative development catered to clients in education, government, and healthcare, and Design Manager at Transglobal Communications, overseeing product line development for major retailers. Adolfo's educational achievements include a Master of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, a PhD in Human Ecology from the University of Alberta, and a Master's degree in Visual Communication Design from the same institution.
