Kuo Tian

Kuo Tian currently serves as an Assistant Professor at George Mason University since August 2017, following a role as a Research Scientist at the University of Virginia from August 2015 to August 2017, and as a Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from September 2010 to August 2015. Research focus includes evaluating the long-term performance of geomembranes and geosynthetic clay liners in low-level radioactive waste (LLW) disposal facilities, with significant contributions such as analyzing LLW leachate data from Department of Energy facilities and predicting antioxidant depletion of high-density polyethylene geomembrane. Kuo Tian earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, complemented by a Master's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the same institution, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
