Sammer Puran

Sammer Puran is a skilled professional with expertise in AI and MLOps, currently serving as Lead AI and MLOps Engineer at Machine Learning Architects Basel since March 2025. Prior to this, Sammer worked as an MLOps Specialist/Data Scientist at SRF - Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen, where key achievements included developing a Computer Vision proof of concept and operationalizing it, experimenting with large language models for radio production, and implementing a recommender system for video platform personalization. Sammer has extensive experience at Swiss Post, first as Lead ML Engineer establishing MLOps best practices and previously as a Data Scientist focusing on predictive maintenance algorithms and data quality improvement. Early career roles included IT Trainee Data Analytics positions that involved generating marketing leads and enhancing intent classification in chatbots, along with work as an ML Engineer at Omdena supporting the World Food Program. Sammer holds a Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Bern.
