Orissa Viza has extensive experience in healthcare management and nursing, currently serving as an RN Complex Care Manager at MACIPA since March 2012. Prior roles include Nurse Clinical Coordinator at Commonwealth Care Alliance, where clinical direction was provided to primary care teams, and Nurse Clinical Liaison at Partners Home Care, focusing on home care transitions for acute inpatients. MACIPA is a physician membership organization, established in 1985. Almost 500 primary care physicians and specialists who have privileges at Mount Auburn Hospital are members of MACIPA. Practice locations include Cambridge, Belmont, Watertown, Waltham, Somerville, Lexington, Arlington, Allston/Brighton. Newton, and Medford . MACIPA PCPs have approximately 250,000 patients enrolled in their practices. MACIPA’s accomplishments in controlling healthcare costs and improving quality are well known. MACIPA was chosen as one of the original participants in CMS’ Medicare Pioneer Contract and today participates in the Medicare Shared Savings’ Program. MACIPA was also selected as the first physician organization to participate in the Alternative Quality Contract. In conjunction with our physicians, MACIPA develops and manages programs in quality improvement, care management, population management, patient experience, health information exchange, and pharmacy. These initiatives lead to better health outcomes, reduction in hospital admissions, and better management of health care spending.
