Nelson Arruda

Nelson Arruda serves as the Senior Vice President at Mackenzie Investments, leading the Mackenzie Multi-Asset Strategies Team, which manages over $50 billion in assets. Responsibilities include overseeing investment activities such as Strategic and Tactical Asset Allocation, Market Neutral Global Macro, Currency Overlay, and Climate-Focused Assets, among others. Arruda is also a member of the firm's Global Investment Committee. Prior to this role, Arruda held positions as Vice President at Mackenzie Investments, where alpha-focused investment strategies were developed, and was a Portfolio Manager at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, managing a cross-commodity portfolio. Additional experience includes roles at State Street as a Financial Engineer and at CicadaRisk as a Financial Software Engineer. Academic qualifications include an M Finance from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management and an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Toronto.
