Pete Mackey

Pete Mackey is the Founder and Lead Consultant at Mackey Strategies, established in August 2016, focusing on helping leaders and institutions in the education and nonprofit sectors refine their messaging and develop comprehensive strategies. Previously, Pete served as Chief Communications Officer at Amherst College, where responsibilities included overseeing communications strategy and re-structuring the communications division. At Bucknell University, roles included Vice President for Communications & Community Relations, where Pete oversaw a successful website redesign and played a key role in a comprehensive $500 million fundraising campaign. Prior positions also include Director of Public Relations at the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation and Director of Communications at Science Foundation Ireland. Pete holds a Ph.D. in 20th-century British Literature from the University of South Carolina, as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in English from Case Western Reserve University.
