Daniela Kohut has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Daniela currently works at MacKillop Family Services in the role of Foster Carer Recruitment & Development since August 2022. Previously, they served as a Senior Practitioner Intake Orange Door from March 2022 to November 2022, and as a Child FIRST Intake Worker from August 2020 to March 2022.
Before joining MacKillop Family Services, Daniela worked at Melton City Council for ten years as a Community Activation and Learning Officer from April 2010 to August 2020. Daniela also held various positions at Australian Catholic University from March 2013 to November 2013, including Sessional Lecturer/Tutor, Lecturer/School of Psychology/Counselling, and Student Placement Co-ordinator/School of Psychology/Counselling.
In addition, Daniela has been involved in community organizations such as Network West, where they served as a Treasurer and General Board Member from March 2015 to March 2018. Daniela played a significant role in co-creating the Melbourne Inspiration Day event in 2017 as part of their work with the Passion Project.
Furthermore, Daniela has acquired substantial experience in counseling and facilitating support groups. Daniela worked as a Group Facilitator and Counsellor for Post Natal Depression at Baptcare from March 2007 to February 2009, as a Tuning into Kids Facilitator at Melton City Council from March 2004 to March 2006, as a Counsellor and Community Educator at ISIS Primary Care/Gamblers Help from March 2000 to May 2002, and as a Families First Case Worker at Baptcare from March 1999 to July 2000. Prior to that, they served as a Drug and Alcohol Counsellor and Group Facilitator at Westadd Women's and Children's Program from March 1997 to March 1999.
Daniela Kohut obtained a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Victoria University, from the years 1992 to 1995. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2020, they became a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Daniela also completed Mental Health First Aid training provided by Mental Health First Aid Australia in October 2019. In August 2019, they completed the QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper program offered by the QPR Institute. In June 2019, they obtained Safe TALK training from Lifeline Australia. Furthermore, in August 2013, they completed a specialist course in Couples Counselling at Relationships Australia Victoria. Lastly, in March 2004, they completed Tuning into Kids Facilitator Training at The Bouverie Centre.
