Barry MacLean

Barry MacLean is the Chairman of MacLean-Fogg Company. A privately held firm, MacLean-Fogg is a worldwide manufacturer of engineered products for automotive, truck, electric power, and telecommunications businesses. The Company has over thirty North American manufacturing locations and twelve international facilities with sales in excess of one billion dollars and a worldwide workforce of 4,500 people. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Dartmouth and a Master of Mechanical Engineering from Thayer School of Engineering, Dartmouth College. He received a Doctor of Humane Letters Honorary Degree from Dartmouth College in 2010.

Barry MacLean served as a Dartmouth College Trustee from 1990-2000. He has served on the Thayer School of Engineering Dartmouth College Board of Overseers for over thirty-six years.

MacLean is a member, director, and former chairman of numerous businesses and professional organizations. Civic interests include Trusteeships at Newberry Library, Museum of Science and Industry, University of Chicago Hospitals, and U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association. He is former chairman of the Board of The School of the Art Institute and Vice Chairman of the Art Institute. He served for thirty-five years as elected trustee of the Village of Mettawa and fourteen years as mayor.

Barry lives in Mettawa, Illinois. He has five children and twelve grandchildren.
